Country life

One of the benefits of having a bf who lives in the countryside (Shropshire, which is home to the muller cows and one of the most pastoral counties in the UK I’ve ever been to!) is the lovely fresh food. His parents keep chickens and every time I go to visit, having freshly laid eggs for breakfast every morning is bliss! I didn’t realise this, but the chickens each lay different coloured eggs! Olive, Blue and plain white colours decorate their egg basket.

Coming down for the weekend, he brought my family a LARGE Game pie. It was so big- around 30cm in diameter! And it was genuine game as my brother found a shotgun pellet in his slice! (flashback to ‘Back to the Future 3!) It was delicious! Very meaty and the crust wasn’t too thick. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the pie to take a pic before my bro and Dad got to it!!
The pie was bought at a small shop in a little village called ‘Much Wenlock’ where they also have a great knitting shop (see knit post on my other blog) that also comes highly recommended if anyone does manage to venture into the depths of ‘the Shire’ as I call it!
